Founded in 2001 (USAID Telecenter Project)
To contribute to sustainable economic development by:
1) meeting local needs of training, information and ICT access;
2) facilitating the interaction of groups to develop innovative approaches to research and development.
TARGETS
INFOCENTER targets a great variety of groups and adult learners, mainly in rural and geographically disadvantaged areas with the intention to improve quality of life.
Employed people who want to improve or change their qualification;
Disadvantaged and unemployed people;
Local businesses and craftsmen.
INFOCENTER – Europe
Currently have partners in 14 EU states, working in EU projects centred around innovative actions and developments that offer opportunities for social integration and sustainable economic development. The focus of activities is on:
1) Development and delivery of innovative, technology-enhanced trainings and training materials for trainers, disabled people, socially and economically disadvantaged people, continuing education for employed people, etc.;
2) Work with people experiencing social exclusion.
Involvement in a number of national and transnational European projects under:
PHARE Program;
Structural Funds;
Human Resource Development Program - measures under the Employment Agency;
LLP - Comenius, Grundtvig and Leonardo.
